The 11th Heilongjiang Challenge 2019

Arrival
Heilongjiang, which is the coldest place that I ever visit. So that, I have to prepare many things for this trip. Even if we assemble at Hong Kong International Airport, we have to spare some time to check-in and pack our luggage. We have to do those things by ourselves. And also, we need to take a connecting flight in Shanghai and do all the transfer procedure by ourselves. We don’t have agency to help us. We have to plan by ourselves. These kind of challenge can be a great experience for our future. After we arrived Hei Long Jiang, I can’t believe that our buddies pick us at the airport. It is so warm for us.
It is the first time that a group of people pick me up at the airport. I am very pleased about that and it is unforgetable. For my first day in Hei Long Jiang, no doubt it is a wonderful beginning!

Aims:

3. To comprehend children’s difficulties through activities and communication with them
During this children’s home visit, children’s songs such as “Little Little Twinkle Star” and “Two Tigers”, and simple games like “Teacher Says” and “Leader Guessing” are prepared for children. Chaos happened when we gave candies to them as award for winning games.
After that, there was a hand-painting session. Children here chose their favorite color and hand-painted on the paper. A painting filled with numerous hands was created and gave them as a souvenir.
Children's Home Visit
Ice Skating
Ice skating in Harbin is extremely cold and cool. It is a good time to test our courage because most of us do not know skate well. We know each others more after ice skating as we helped the others when they fell on the ice. We learnt the spirit of 'United we stay, divided we fall'. The feeling of ice skating in Harbin is totally different from Hong Kong. The ice in Harbin is more rugged, and also the weather made us feel freezed. All of us put on our full gear for this challenge. We are pleased to become the first year participants in ice skating competition suggested by Marco in 11th Heilongjiang Challenge. It seems funny but meaningful because we have recorded this competition as our memory. This experience will definitely remind us the perseverance we have paid to obtain this unforgettable memory!
International Ball

Aims:
1. To build friendship with HIU students
2. To build team spirit with each other and known our weakness
3. To share our life style with HIU students and show our unique
In the international ball, the HIU students first gave us the information about their school through a video. Then principal of HIU delivered a welcome speech to us.
After that, the performance began. Both of us gave a splendid performance which to share our own culture. Then we had a dance together. This was the most happiest part in the ball. Our buddies were danced and sang with us, like we sang “浪花一朵朵” and other popular songs. This is a time for us to introduce ourselves.
Harbin Engineering University Maritime Museum

Aims:
1. To know the history of maritime
2. To introduce the production of each types of military naval vessel , which include with some Chinese history
In this museum, it contains different kinds of exhibition which included the shipping history, the manufacturing of shipping etc. And during the visiting, we have a tour guide, who explained all information about the nature of maritime and it’s history. And he also told the how the shipping manufacture were running. This seems a great time for us to have a chance to know more about the maritime industry, and some of them was related with some of Chinese history. This help all our student to get interest in this career.
Free time with buddies

Aims:
1. To experience local culture with biddies
2. To build up a close friendship
3. To know and understand the future career path of buddies
During this period of time, we are able to develop a close friendship with our buddies and share our dream. It seems a good method to know each other well. Besides sharing, we also experience their culture in Harbin, like we tried different kinds of local food, entertainment, and travel around the city. This such a memorable experience that we have, and to know more about Harbin.
Visit Wondersun Dairy Factory

Aims:
1. To know the process of producing a milk which sales to market
2. How to apply this process in the concept of AIS
In this visiting, we have a guide lead us to walk around the factory and explained the process of packing milk. Also, she explained the history about their company, as it is the well-known milk production company in China. So it has many certificate given by the Government. Besides that, we can see that they use many professional machinery which used to allocate and pack the milk to market. At last, we tried their product. It tasted good and fresh. Therefore, this company have a well control of it’s product.
Visit harbin institution of technology museum

Aims:
To know the history of Harbin institution of technology (HIT)
The museum is free to public. Established in 1906, HIT featured arch. The visit included introducing the alumni and explaining the history of HIT from 1920s. There are 2 floors, displaying more than 4000 stuff, from artworks to textbooks to school uniforms. Some of the exhibits even have a history of 100 years. This visit help students to know more about a renowned university in Harbin.
Harbin Ice Snow Sculpture

Aims:
To overcome extreme weather
Visiting Harbin Ice Snow Sculpture is one of the challenges for participants to feel the extreme cold weather which is always nearly -30°C and overcome it. Besides, participants could enjoy amazing and dazzling snow and ice sculptures which cannot find in Hong Kong. It is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and unforgettable memories for all participants.

Therefore, all of us have made a unforgettable memory in the Ice snow world.
